The Pointe du Bois Project is a hydroelectric power station located on the Winnipeg River in Manitoba, Canada. This project involves the replacement of the production units at the station. Currently, only 3 of the 16 original production units are expected to operate beyond 2029. To extend the operational lifespan of the plant, 8 new production units will be installed. Each unit consists of a turbine and a generator, enabling electricity generation from the river’s water. This project will increase the plant’s renewable production capacity and provide power to approximately 35,000 additional households in Manitoba.
