About the Client and the Project
For over 50 years, Ocean Group, with its 1,150 employees, has been a key player in Quebec’s maritime landscape, offering integrated maritime services in Canada and the Caribbean. Ocean provides port towing, marine works, shipbuilding, and ship repairs.
Ocean Group has secured the contract for extending the service life of a vessel (an additional 15 to 20 years), which involves several stages, including the repair and refurbishment of the main propulsion engines. New equipment will also be installed.
The NGCC Griffon is a vessel that conducts buoy maintenance and light icebreaking operations, primarily in Ontario and the Saint Lawrence River.
The work will begin in June 2025 at Ocean Group facilities in Quebec and will be completed in 2026 at the Ocean Shipyard in Les Méchins.
